Another season is coming to end with only two weeks left and if the Oakland Raiders are to make it to the playoffs the team needs to start by turning things around. The NFL season for Raiders was certainly not kind on the injury front from the moment quarterback Jason Campbell went down. The Raiders were plagued this season with injuries to key players on both side of the ball. Raiders need to start making quick strategical plans with the absents of these key starters.
Can the Raiders make their final push with those three key players missing in action? Here is the full practice report for the Oakland Raiders in week 16 vs. the Chiefs:
The follow are three lists of players that were report on the injury list in the beginning of the week. The first list are the players that did not participate in practice and are more than likely not suiting up this week against the AFC west rival Kansas City Chiefs.
QB Jason Campbell (collarbone), WR Jacoby Ford (foot), DT John Henderson (knee), S Michael Huff (hamstring), RB Darren McFadden (foot), WR Louis Murphy (groin)
At this time Campbell is still ruled out joined by receiver Ford. Darren McFadden on the other hand is doing some light jogging and trying to work his way back slowly to the field and is questionable for Saturday. Coach Hue Jackson has implied that getting his top running back for a possible playoff game is a goal. Safety Huff continues to deal with his ankle injury and is again questionable for the game with the Chiefs although Huff is working with a team trainer on an adjacent field and hopes to return on Saturday to the struggling defense.
The players below are probable and most likely are going to be playing Saturday they were limited in practice.
RB Michael Bush (shoulder), RB Taiwan Jones (hamstring), DT Tommy Kelly (toe)
Look for the following players to return to the field Saturday against the Chiefs all of them had full participation in practice on Thursday.
RB Rock Cartwright (calf), S Matt Giordano (shoulder), CB Bryan McCann (concussion), WR Denarius Moore (foot), CB Stanford Routt (knee), C Samson Satele (shoulder), WR Chaz Schilens (hip)
If this is any indication as to why the Raiders might be struggling the last three weeks on both sides of the ball especially on defense maybe due to the vast amount of injuries some key players suffered. Now it’s time to overcome that as some players look to return this week. There is no room for mistakes or errors for the rest of the season the Raiders need to be on top of their game without any excuses.
