Raiders GM Reggie McKenzie, said earlier Tuesday evening on SiriusXM NFL Radio that quarterback Terrelle Pryor will get a shot at the team's starting job in 2013.

With the recent success of the young quarterbacks in the NFL like Russell Wilson and Colin Kaepernick. McKenzie and his head coach Dennis Allen aren't hesitating to pull the trigger on a competition between veteran Carson Palmer and Pryor come this fall.

This season the Raiders new staff were hesitate to have competition of this nature due to the massive cap number, but it's encouraging the Silver and Black appear to be adopting a more open-minded approach after the dismissal of their former offensive coordinator Greg Knapp's rigid system that backfired in a hurry.

The benefit of the quarterback battle is even if Palmer gets the position after all it will add more confidence and more sprit to the team and individuals involved.
